Abhinaya School of Dance
The "Abhinaya School of Kuchipudi" was established in the year 2014 with a primary objective of fostering the learning and performance of Kuchipudi, an ancient Indian classical dance form originating from the cultural heartland of Andhra Pradesh. Revered for its intricate footwork, expressive dramatization, and nuanced storytelling techniques, Kuchipudi has earned enduring acclaim both nationally and internationally.
Mrs. Raji Rayaprolu, the esteemed founder of the school, has dedicated herself to the rigorous training of students across various age groups in the art of Kuchipudi for more than a decade. Her unwavering commitment has been pivotal in steering and organizing a diverse array of performances including Recitals, Kalaarchanas (advanced recitals), Rangapraveshams (graduation performances), and elaborate dance dramas. Through her leadership, Kuchipudi has flourished within the Austin Area, with the school diligently conducting regular training sessions and captivating performances.
Presently, the school prides itself on a proficient team of three teachers, including Mrs. Raji Rayaprolu, all of whom provide steadfast support and guidance to the budding talents. Looking ahead, there are strategic plans underway to expand the faculty further, aiming to elevate the caliber of instruction, practice sessions, and choreography. At its core, the Abhinaya School of Kuchipudi operates with a profound reverence and dedication to preserving the heritage and artistry of Kuchipudi, while also striving to propagate its rich traditions to future generations.
